On October 30, 2023 A. Ismailova, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Republic of Korea, met with Hyung Hee Lee, member of the Supreme Council of SK group Corporation, President of the Social Committee, Vice President of the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry

During the meeting, the Ambassador in Korea presented information about the opportunities of Kyrgyzstan in the field of renewable energy and the work carried out in the country to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. In this regard, she expressed interest of the Kyrgyz Republic in realization of fruitful cooperation in  hydropower sector with the Republic of Korea.

The possibility of opening joint production of industrial goods on the territories of special industrial zones was also noted.

For the purpose of practical promotion and detailed study of possible investment projects, Ambassador A. Ismailova noted the interest of the Kyrgyz side in organizing a visit of the management of the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry, SK group corporation and other major Korean companies to the Kyrgyz Republic as soon as possible.

Hyung Hee Lee expressed interest in cooperation with the Kyrgyz side in such areas as ecology, climate change, energy and mining.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed the potential for the development of trade and economic relations between the countries, and prospects for cooperation in the investment sphere.
