Cooperation between Kyrgyz Republic and Republic of Korea in the field of education and healthcare is expanding

In order to expand cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Korea in the field of education and healthcare, on November 1, 2023, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Korea, Aida Ismailova, met with the President of Keimyung University, Mr. Synn Ilhi. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the healthcare system of the Kyrgyz Republic, who arrived to undergo a training on capacity building, worked out by the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Republic of Korea.

Ambassador Aida Ismailova noted the importance of holding such courses in order to exchange experience in the field of healthcare. At the same time, she outlined the need to increase quotas in Korean universities for students from Kyrgyzstan, including at Keimyung University. In this context, the parties discussed possible cooperation of Keimyung University with the Kyrgyz State Medical Institute of Retraining and Advanced Training named after S.B. Daniyarov and other medical universities of Kyrgyzstan.

The President of the University, Synn Ilhi, in turn, warmly welcomed the participants of the training and highly appreciated the level of cooperation between the University and the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of healthcare. In addition, he noted that in 2022, the Dongsan Medical Center at Keimyung University organized free treatment for patients from Kyrgyzstan.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to further deepen cooperation.

For reference: Keimyung University is a private university founded in 1899 and located in the third largest city of the Republic of Korea - Daegu. The university is known for its active international activities and extensive connections with universities around the world. In the Kyrgyz Republic actively cooperates with the KNU named after Zh. Balasagyn.
