On December 12, 2023, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Korea, A.Ismailova, met with the Head of the Diplomatic Local office of the Governors Association of the Republic of Korea, Ha Tae Youk.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of interregional cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Korea and noted the need to intensify work in this direction.

In particular, Ambassador A.Ismailova, in the light of the intensification of interregional cooperation, proposed new areas of interaction in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Ha Tae Youk, in turn, provided information on the activities of the Governors Association of the Republic of Korea and expressed readiness to promote the intensification of interregional cooperation. He also announced plans to hold a forum on cooperation between the regions of the Republic of Korea and Central Asia in 2024, which will become a key platform for establishing ties between the regions of the two countries.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed on further steps to enhance and deepen interregional cooperation. Both sides expressed confidence that this important step contributes to strengthening friendly relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Korea.
