On December 14, 2023, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Korea A.Ismailova met with the head of the largest broadcasting corporation "Korean Broadcasting System" (KBS) Park Min.

During the meeting, Ambassador A.Ismailova noted that the media play an important role in shaping the image of the country beyond its borders and informed the Korean side about the existing state-owned television and radio companies in Kyrgyzstan. In this context, she called for cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in the digital sphere, the use of modern technologies in the production and broadcasting of content. In addition, it was proposed to use the picturesque natural landscapes of Kyrgyzstan as filming locations for Korean dramas and various show projects.

Park Min, in turn, informed about the company's activities in terms of international cooperation with other countries. He also noted that within the framework of the project about foreign tourism, a program about Kyrgyzstan and its nature was also shown. At the same time, he expressed readiness to discuss further cooperation in terms of the exchange of cultural programs and technological exchange.

At the end of the meeting, the parties noted that the establishment of ties between Kyrgyz media and KBS opens up new prospects for joint projects in the field of media and cultural exchange.

For reference: KBS operates a wide range of media platforms; four terrestrial TV channels, two satellite TV channels (KBS World, KBS KOREA), seven radio stations, four DMB channels and various media services. KBS is headquartered in Yeouido, Seoul, and serves 18 regional stations in major cities across the country. There are 11 foreign bureaus around the world, including the USA, Europe, China and Japan.
