Meeting took place between A. Ismailova and the President of the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Chang Won Sam

On February 22, 2024, Ambassador A. Ismailova met with the President of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Chang Won Sam.

During the meeting, Ambassador A. Ismailova highly appreciated the activities of KOICA and the presence of the Representative Office in Kyrgyzstan. She emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is among the priority countries for cooperation in the field of ODA, and therefore requested to increase the package of projects for bilateral cooperation.

She informed about the approval of the National Roadmap for the implementation of the “Mountain Five Years” and the holding of the Second Global Mountain Summit “Bishkek+25” in 2027 in Kyrgyzstan, 25 years after the First Summit. In this regard, she invited the Korean side to take an active part and make its contribution to the preservation of mountain ecosystems.

President Chang Won Sam sincerely thanked for the assistance provided to KOICA’s activities in the Kyrgyz Republic. He noted that KOICA will continue to implement projects in priority areas of cooperation, in particular: the environment, agriculture, public administration and healthcare.

At the end of the meeting, in order to further strengthen grant-technical cooperation, the parties discussed organizing the visit of the President of KOICA to the Kyrgyz Republic.
