On July 10, 2019, at the initiative of the Embassy, Ambassador Dinara Kemelova met with Mr. Lee Jong - Bae, a deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, the chairman of the friendship group for cooperation with Kyrgyzstan.

D.Kemelova congratulated the Korean side on the recent historic meeting of the Presidents of the South Korea, the USA and the DPRK leader in the demilitarized zone. D.Kemelova expressed the hope that the chosen negotiating way would be aimed at preserving the peace and stability of the Korean Peninsula, as well as further prosperity of the region.

Ambassador D.Kemelova indicated the interest of the Kyrgyz side in the further development of inter-parliamentary cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Korea. Mr. Lee Jong - Bae commended the Kyrgyz people for democratic development and expressed the hope that Kyrgyzstan will achieve good results thanks to parliamentary rule in the future. The Member of the Parliament of South Korea also noted the status of ethnic Koreans in Kyrgyzstan, who, together with representatives of other nationalities, live in friendship and harmony.

In turn, Ambassador D.Kemelova requested legislative assistance in removing barriers to trade and economic relations between Kyrgyzstan and the Republic of Korea.

The interlocutors also discussed the possibility of opening direct flights between the capitals of the two countries. The parties agreed to hold regular meetings in the future.
