On the "KYRGYZSTAN DURING THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR" The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Republic of Korea congratulates everyone on the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and has the honor to announce the following:

During the Great Patriotic War, Soviet people fought for freedom and independence. Most of the soldiers from Kyrgyzstan fought by joining the multinational Soviet Army.

365 thousand people from Kyrgyzstan went to the front, a third of whom did not come back home. Over 150 thousand Kyrgyzstanis were awarded various orders and medals. 73 Kyrgyz soldiers were awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union. Thirty-four soldiers received all three of the Order of Glory. Many Kyrgyz soldiers died for the freedom of their homeland and people.

During the Great Patriotic War, people of Kyrgyzstan collected 189 million soms and sent it to the Defense Fund. 57.3 million government bonds were purchased. 195 wagons with food, 550 thousand warm clothes and more than 38 thousand individual parcels were sent from Kyrgyzstan to the front.

The Kyrgyz people in the years 1942-1943 sent more than 100 food wagons to the besieged Leningrad city. Collective and state farms of Kyrgyzstan donated 4.5 million pounds of grain and 500 thousand pounds of meat to the defense fund.

Kyrgyz workers also helped people liberated from nazi occupation. Collective and state farms of the republic sent 130 thousand heads of cattle, sheep and goats for them.
