With the assistance of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Republic of Korea, the Director of the Agency for Promotion and Protection of Investment of Kyrgyzstan, Adilbek uulu Shumkarbek, participated in the "World Conference on Cooperation in Infrastructure-2018" between September 18 and 20 in Seoul, Republic of Korea.

During the event, the Minister of Land Management, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea Mr. Kim Hyun-Mi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Mr. Cho Huyong and Chairman of the International Contractors Association in Korea Mr. Li Kun-Ki delivered a welcoming speech. They called for expansion of cooperation between governments in the fields of infrastructure, business and finance.

Director of the Agency Adilbek uulu Shumkarbek made a presentation on investment opportunities and spoke about projects in the field of infrastructure.

       Within the framework of the event, individual meetings were held with Korean companies - GS Engineering & Construction Corporation, Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd., Korea District Heating Corporation, Yooshin Engineering Corporation and Seoul International Business Inc. 

In addition, bilateral negotiations were held with the Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Presidential Committee for Northern Economic Cooperation, Mr. Li Seung-won, the Executive Director of the Secretariat of the Forum for Cooperation "Central Asia + Republic of Korea", Mr. Song In Kim, Chairman of the International Contractors Association in Korea, Li Kun Ki and Chairman of the Korean Importers Association (KOIMA), Mr. Myung-Jin-shin.

As a result of the event, a draft Memorandum on cooperation between the Investment Promotion and Protection Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Korean Association of Importers was signed, and a Cooperation Agreement was signed with the Korean company Seoul International Business Inc.

Along with this, an agreement was reached on the arrival of the KOIMA mission headed by its Chairman, Meng Zhin Shin, to Bishkek in early December of this year. with the aim of promoting Kyrgyz products and goods in South Korea. At the same time, it is planned to hold a business forum with participation of Kyrgyz business circles and Korean companies-members of KOIMA in the Kyrgyz Republic.

With the support of the International Association of Contractors in Korea, an Investment Forum will be held in Seoul in March 2019, with the participation of representatives of Kyrgyz government agencies, Kyrgyz and Korean companies.

"The World Conference on Cooperation in Infrastructure" began to held from 2013 in the Republic of Korea, which aims to develop business partnerships between foreign participants and Korean contractors and investors in infrastructure and finance. This platform provides an opportunity to present foreign projects to potential Korean partners and conduct individual consultations. This year more than 200 Korean companies and more delegations from foreign countries took part in the Conference.
