Memorandum of Understanding in the field of fire safety was signed between Kyrgyzstan and the Republic of Korea

On October 8, 2020, in Yongin delegation led by the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Korea Dinara Kemelova visited the Korean Fire Institute and met with the President, Mr. Soon-Kyung Kwon.

During the meeting, the Korean side signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of fire safety between the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Korean Fire Institute, which was previously signed by the Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic K. Akhmatov and transmitted through diplomatic channels.

Within the framework of this Memorandum, the parties will exchange experience on improving the fire safety system and developing methods for operating fire-fighting equipment, training of personnel of the Ministry in this area, and the Korean side will provide technical assistance in order to increase the potential of the fire service of the Ministry.

 Ambassador Dinara Kemelova noted the importance of signing this Memorandum, within the framework of which the Korean experience will be applied and the attraction of innovative technologies to this sphere. Also, Ambassador asked Korean side to consider the possibility of allocating quotas for the study of Kyrgyz students on fire safety.

The President of the Institute, Mr. Soon-Kyung Kwon, said that in 2020, some events to train specialists from the Kyrgyzstan were planned, which due to the coronavirus were canceled. However, he noted that the Institute will make every effort for effective cooperation with the Ministry of Emergencies of the Kyrgyz Republic.
