On January 17, 2023, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Türkiye Ruslan Kazakbaev took part in the event on the theme: “Zero waste for the World, Our Common Home” which took place in the Palace of the President of the Republic of Türkiye.

This event was held with the participation of the spouse of the President of Türkiye Emine Erdogan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye M.Cavusoglu, the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change of Türkiye M.Kurum and the diplomatic corps. It should be noted that the Zero Waste project has been implemented since 2017 under the auspices of Emine Erdogan and was adopted by the UN General Assembly in December 2022.

In her welcoming speech, Emine Erdogan drew attention to the need to consolidate efforts against the climate change in the world and said that 30 March will be celebrated all over the world as International Zero Waste Day every year.

“The fact that natural disasters have no borders reminds us once again that we are all in the same boat, and we need to remember that we are members of the same “family of like-minded people - humanity”, even if we were born in different geographical regions,” E. Erdogan said.

The Embassy pays special attention to participation in such events as part of the promotion of the initiative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov to exchange external debt for the implementation of green projects in Kyrgyzstan.
