On December 28, 2020, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Turkey Kubanychbek Omuraliev met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Sedat Onal.

Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev informed Sedat Onal about the internal political situation in Kyrgyzstan, the upcoming presidential election and referendum in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The parties noted the need to conduct official visits at the highest and high levels in 2021, the 5th Meeting of the Supreme Council for Strategic Cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Turkey, as well as the 10th Meeting of Kyrgyz-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Trade  and Economic Cooperation and Kyrgyz-Turkish Business Forum in Kyrgyzstan, postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
