On January 30, 2019, the delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic headed by the Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic O. Pankratov visited the city of Ankara. During the visit, the Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic O. Pankratov met with the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Turkey Ruhsar Pekcan, Deputy Chairman of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey Faik Yavuz and Deputy Chairman of the Union of Contractors of Turkey Kartal Usluel.

During the meetings, issues of strengthening cooperation of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Turkey in the trade and economic sphere were discussed, and presentations on investment opportunities in the Kyrgyz Republic were presented. At the meetings, projects of public-private partnership in infrastructure, tourism, transport, construction, etc. were considered.

According to the results of the meeting of the Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic O. Pankratov and the Minister of Trade of Turkey R.Pekcan, a decision was made to form a joint Working Group to coordinate bilateral cooperation and develop a roadmap to increase trade between the two countries.

One of the priority issues for Kyrgyz Republic is the supply of Kyrgyz beans to the Turkish market. Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic O. Pankratov expressed a request to reduce customs duties for Kyrgyz exporters.

Within the framework of the visit, the Kyrgyz delegation headed by the Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic O. Pankratov took part in the Round Table devoted to the presentation of the collection of articles “World Cultural Heritage and Chingiz Aitmatov” organized by the Turkish Writers Union and the Group of the Strategic Vision Russia - Islamic World.
