Foreign Ministers of CCTS member states adopted a joint statement

On September 27, 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbaev took part in the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (CCTS Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs) dedicated to the situation in Afghanistan and its impact on the Turkic speaking countries.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the initiatives of the CCTS countries in terms of assisting the inter-Afghan dialogue, and also outlined guidelines for future cooperation with Afghanistan on a number of key issues on the regional and international agenda.

The Foreign Ministers of the CCTS member states noted the need for the international community to take timely steps to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe in Afghanistan and provide assistance to the people of Afghanistan on the eve of the coming winter.

The head of the Foreign Ministry of the Kyrgyz Republic R. Kazakbaev noted the importance of developing mechanisms for constructively resolving the humanitarian aspects of the current difficult situation in Afghanistan. The Kyrgyz side called on the international community, including the Turkic-speaking countries, to purposeful efforts to achieve peace, tranquility and stability in neighboring Afghanistan.

R. Kazakbaev informed the participants of the meeting  that on September 23, on behalf of the President of the country Sadyr Zhaparov, humanitarian aid was delivered to Kabul from the people of Kyrgyzstan to the people of Afghanistan. At the same time, it was noted that within the framework of this humanitarian operation, representatives of the Kyrgyz Republic held a number of meetings with the transitional government of Afghanistan.

In addition, Minister R. Kazakbaev, in his speech, dwelled in detail on political events since the beginning of the establishment of people's power in Kyrgyzstan in October 2020. He said that with the upcoming parliamentary elections in November 2021, the political cycle of transformations of the October will of the Kyrgyz people will be completed.

Also, during the meeting of the Council of Ministers, the draft project of the upcoming 8th CCTS Summit on November 12 this year in Istanbul, as well as other topical issues of multilateral cooperation within the framework of the CCTS, were considered.

As a result of the said meeting, a joint statement of the CCTS Ministerial Council was adopted.
