On December 14, 2021, Kyrgyz student community in Konya organized an event at Selcuk University in Konya dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Kyrgyz Republic and the memory of Chyngyz Aitmatov on the occasion of his birthday.

The event was attended by Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev and Rector of Selcuk University Prof. Dr. Metin Aksoy.

During the event, which was also attended by the faculty of Selcuk University, students of Turkish universities and representatives of the Kyrgyz diaspora, objects of national culture (costumes, jewelry, dishes, souvenirs, etc.) and national dishes were demonstrated, Kyrgyz national dances and national compositions on komuz, chopo-chor and ooz komuz were performed, videos about Kyrgyzstan and Chyngyz Aitmatov were shown, as well as short theatrical performances based on the writer's works were played.
