Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev took part in the 25th Eurasian Economic Summit in Istanbul

On June 8, 2022, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Türkıye Kubanychbek Omuraliev, as part of his participation in the 25th Eurasian Economic Summit in Istanbul, spoke at a plenary session on energy issues on the topic: "Energy potential of the Kyrgyz Republic".

In his speech, Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev informed about the huge potential of the Kyrgyz Republic for the development of hydropower and the measures and conditions taken by the Government for the construction of hydroelectric power plants and called on investors to jointly implement projects in this area.

As a concrete steps, for example, the participants of the event were informed that on June 8, 2022, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov launched the construction of the Kambarata HPP-1, one of the largest hydroelectric power plants in Central Asia, which will allow Kyrgyzstan to achieve energy independence.

The above-mentioned session was attended by the Minister of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan, Deputy Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the State Committee for Investment and State Property Management of Tajikistan, representatives of the UN Office in Geneva, representatives of the EEC, former Prime Ministers of Albania and Moldova, heads of companies and investment funds, as well as state and public figures from several countries.

The 25th Eurasian Economic Summit, which took place on June 7-9, 2022, was also attended by the President of Montenegro, the President of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the High Representative of the UN Alliance of Civilizations, as well as the former Presidents of Croatia, Northern Macedonia, Moldova, Tunisia etc.
