On March 1, 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Zheenbek Kulubaev took part in a panel discussion: “Institutionalization in the Turkic world: the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in the 21st century” at the Antalya Diplomatic Forum.

The event dedicated to the integration of Turkic-speaking states was held for the first time at this diplomatic platform. The discussion was also attended by the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Member of Parliament, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu. The moderator was the OTS General Secretary Kubanychbek Omuraliev.

Participants of the panel discussion exchanged views on strengthening the potential of OTS, strengthening integration processes and increasing cooperation between Member States.

In his speech, Minister Zheenbek Kulubaev shared his opinion on the prospects for cooperation within the OTS, outlined potential areas of cooperation such as the economy, investment, development of transport arteries, investment in hydropower and “green” projects, as well as countering the negative consequences of climate change.

As a result of the discussion, the parties agreed on the need to continue integration processes against the backdrop of geopolitical instability in order to effectively counter emerging challenges and threats.
