On April 5, 2024, during a working trip to the city of Samsun, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Türkiye Ruslan Kazakbaev met with the Mayor of Samsun Halit Dogan.

Ambassador R. Kazakbaev congratulated Halit Dogan on his election to the post of Mayor of Samsun following the results of local elections held throughout Türkiye on March 31, 2024. During the meeting, the Ambassador expressed his best wishes for success in his new position.

The parties discussed the prospects for the development of bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and Türkiye. Taking into account the existing sister city agreement between the cities of Bishkek and Samsun, the Ambassador called for increased interaction between both municipal administrations and invited a delegation from the Samsun City Hall, headed by Mayor Halit Dogan, to visit Kyrgyzstan on a working visit.

In addition, the parties raised issues of Kyrgyz students studying in the city of Samsun. . Ambassador Ruslan Kazakbaev asked for comprehensive support for Kyrgyz students studying in the city of Samsun.
