On April 5, 2024, during a working trip to the city of Samsun, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Türkiye Ruslan Kazakbaev met with the Governor of Samsun Province Orhan Tavlı.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of developing bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation. Considering that Samsun is a large industrial city in Türkiye on the Black Sea coast with developed industries in the production of medical, agricultural products and equipment, mechanical engineering, and tourism, the Kyrgyz side expressed interest in strengthening interaction in these areas of the economy.

Ambassador Ruslan Kazakbaev informed about current projects in Kyrgyzstan, including work in the field of renewable energy sources, the construction of hydroelectric power stations and the development of the Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-China railway. He also noted the investment and transit potential of Kyrgyzstan.

Ruslan Kazakbaev invited Governor Orhan Tavlı to visit Kyrgyzstan on a working visit. It was also proposed to establish sister city relations between the province of Samsun and the regions of Kyrgyzstan.

During the meeting, Ambassador Ruslan Kazakbaev expressed a request for maximum support for the stay of citizens of Kyrgyzstan in Samsun, especially students, to which the Governor assured that all support would be provided.

The meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere. One of the important results was the agreement on the delegation’s trip from Samsun to the Kyrgyz Republic.
