At the event, On February 1, 2020, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic with the Associatıon for Local Thought organized the Commemorative event called “The First General Woman of Asia” dedicated to the historical woman Kurmanjan Datka in the building of Turkish Historical Society in Ankara.

Commemorative event started with National Anthems of two countries and a short video about Kurmanjan Datka.

The Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Chief Counselor of the President of Turkey Yalchyn Topchu, the member of the Parliament (Great National Assembly) and the Head of the parliamentary friendship group of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey Sabri Ozturk, the Head of the Associatıon for Local Thought and the member of the Parliament Metin Gundogdu and Turkish Professor Abdulselam Arvas delivered speeches about the personal and political life of Kurmanjan Datka.

The Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev told that wise, clever and inborn diplomat Kurmanjan Datka was not just mother of her sons, but she was thoughtful mother of all Kyrgyz people; in order to provide peaceful life for Kyrgyz people she sacrificed her son. Especially he emphasized the poems written by Kurmanjan Datka under a pseudonym which shows her talent in poetry.

Chief Counselor of the President of Turkey Yalchyn Topchu stated that Kurmanjan Datka was the hero Kyrgyz woman of Turkic World who must be introduced to the whole World as the example for women.

The member of Justice commitee of the Great National Assembly of Turkey, Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey Sabri Ozturk noted that Kurmanjan Datka is honourable strong General in the Turkic Worl and at the same time she was strong hero in political life and caring mother at home.

Turkish Professor Abdulselam Arvas comparing Kurmanjan Datka with other women in the World who left mark in history noted that she was great incomparable person.

The Embassies of foreign countries in Ankara, the representatives of the ministries and departments of Turkey, and representatives of local governments,  the heads of international organizations and public associations, the representatives of business world and Mass media, Kyrgyz and Turkish students, as well as the representatives of diaspora including ethnic Kyrgyz people from Chubuk distric of Ankara who moved from Alay attended the event.

The aim of this event is introducing the hictorical person who is known among the people as Kurmanjan Datka and the Queen of Alay to the outside world, to Turkey and Turkic World.

As reference: Turkish Historical Society is a research society under the Government of Turkey studying the history of Turkey and the Turkish people, founded in 1931 by the initiative of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
