On March 3-4, 2020, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Turkey Kubanychbek Omuraliev paid a working visit to Kayseri.

As part of the visit, Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev met with the Governor of Kayseri Province Shehmus Gunaidyn, the Mayor of the city of Kayseri Memduh Buiykkylych, heads, businessmen and industrialists of the  Kayseri Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Rector of Erzhiyes University Mustafa Chalysh, as well as the Director of the Directorate for Migration of the province of Kayseri Omer Tashchy and Kyrgyz citizens living in Kayseri province.

At the meetings with the Governor and the Mayor of Kayseri, Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev noted the need for further development of bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation, the establishment of twinning relations between the regions and cities of Kyrgyzstan and Kayseri. The parties noted the importance of increasing trade and agreed to organize a visit of businessmen from Kayseri to Kyrgyzstan, as well as joint cultural and humanitarian events.

During the meetings with heads and entrepreneurs of the Kayseri Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in light of well-known situation and the closure of borders, Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev invited businessmen to open production in the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as supply raw materials for the Kyrgyz textile industry and medical masks to Kyrgyzstan.

Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev made a presentation on the investment climate and business conditions (liberal taxes, costs of doing business, etc.), on the benefits of the Kyrgyz Republic's membership in the EAEU, as well as on the opportunity of free movement of funds. The businessmen of the Kayseri Chamber of Commerce expressed interest in visiting Kyrgyzstan to familiarize themselves with the possibilities of opening production sites. Kubanychbek Omuraliev expressed readiness to assist in the activities of Kayseri entrepreneurs in the Kyrgyz Republic and answered their questions.

The issues related to the education and conditions of staying in Turkey of 68 students from Kyrgyzstan who are studying at this university were discussed with the Rector of Erzhiyes University Mustafa Chalysh, as well as cooperation between universities of the Kyrgyz Republic and Turkey.

At the meeting with citizens, where representatives of Directorate for Migration of Kayseri province and Erzhiyes University attended, the issues of protecting the rights and interests of Kyrgyz citizens in Turkey, as well as the rights and obligations of foreign citizens staying in Turkey were discussed in details. During the meeting, Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev and the Turkish side answered to numerous questions from citizens of Kyrgyzstan, including the procedure for issuing and renewing a residence permit, work permit, as well as a number of issues of education and activities of Kyrgyz students at Kayseri University. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev informed citizens about the measures taken by the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Embassy to protect citizens, including the Agreement on social security between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Turkey, the cancellation of payment for notarization of documents, registration for consular records, etc., as well as about the meetings held with the authorities, entrepreneurs, the heads of Directorate for Migration of Kayseri province and Erzhiyes University.      

For reference: Kayseri is the administrative center of the province of the same name. Kayseri Province is located in central Anatolian region of Turkey, with population of 1,407,409. Kayseri is one of the economically developed provinces of Turkey. Furniture production, textile, chemical, processing industries, as well as energy and agriculture sectors are developed in the region. The trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Kayseri is $ 6.5 million.
