On March 6, 2020, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Turkey Kubanychbek Omuraliev met with the newly elected leadership of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Business Council (KTBC) under the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK).

During the meeting, Chairman of the Council Aydin Mistaсhoglu introduced the members of the Board of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Business Council of DEIK and informed about the activities of the KTBC.

The parties discussed the development of trade and economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev called on members of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Business Council of DEIC, who are businessmen, to invest in the economy of Kyrgyzstan and to assist in strengthening ties between business circles and entrepreneurs of the two countries.

Kubanychbek Omuraliev invited Turkish businessmen to participate in the Kyrgyz-Turkish Business Forum, which will be held in the summer of 2020 in the Issyk-Kul region of the Kyrgyz Republic.

For reference: DEIK has more than 140 country business councils, including Kyrgyzstan. The Kyrgyz-Turkish Business Council (KTBC) under DEIK was established on December 25, 1991, under the Eurasian Business Council. This council acts as an intermediary between the state and the private sector and for this purpose organizes contacts between leaders, politicians, and officials of both countries and business circles. A member of the business council, including Kyrgyz-Turkish, can be any company at his own request. The Chairman and members of the Board of Business Councils are elected from among the members for 2 years. KTBS of DEIK consists of 41 businessmen and 16 of them in the Board of the Council. The chairman of the KTBS is Aydin Mistachoglu, the head of the Mystachoglu group of companies operating in Kyrgyzstan (elected on January 11, 2020).
