On October 6, 2020, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Turkey Kubanychbek Omuraliev met with Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkey Suleyman Soylu.

During the meeting, the parties reached an agreement on extending of a residence permit of the category "tourism" or changing this category to another for citizens staying in Turkey for various purposes, as well as on providing exemptions for citizens illegally staying in Turkey for the purpose of their legalization.

The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation in exchange of information and experience, and delegations between law enforcement agencies of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Turkey, within the framework of the effort to fight against international terrorism, human trafficking, etc.

In addition, Ambassador Mr. K.Omuraliev expressed a request for the Turkish side to provide information on the detained and deceased citizens of Kyrgyzstan in the territory of Turkey on time and to monitor the groups that provide jobs for citizens of Kyrgyzstan in Turkey in order to ensure compliance with labour legislation of Turkey.

Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkey Mr. S.Soylu assured that he will provide assistance in resolving the issues raised.
