Trade and Economic Cooperation

In July 2006, in the framework of the visit to the Sverdlovsk Region of the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, an agreement was signed between the Government of the Sverdlovsk Region of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic on trade, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian cooperation.

Since September 26, 2006, the Coordination Commission for the Development of Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation between the Government of the Sverdlovsk Region of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic has been operating, which is a platform for discussing priority areas for the development of cooperation between the executive bodies of state power and representatives of business structures. From June 18, 2014, the former Minister of International and Foreign Economic Relations of the Sverdlovsk Region, A.O., was appointed the Co-Chair of the Coordination Commission by a decree of the Government of the Sverdlovsk Region. The main indicators of foreign trade of the Sverdlovsk region and Kyrgyzstan in 2013–2017 are shown in Table 1 (according to the Ural Customs Administration).

Commodity structure of export and import

Commodity structure of export and import In 2015, mainly metals from the Sverdlovsk region to Kyrgyzstan were supplied - 52%, including ferrous metals (rolled metal, profiles), ferrous metals (pipes), tools, aluminum and products from it, copper and products from her. The share of wood and wood products - 7% (fibreboard and chipboard, processed timber), including paper and cardboard. The share of chemical products - 8%, including cosmetic products, cleaning products, plastics, pharmaceutical products, mixed chemicals, rubber and products from it (tires). The share of food - 8% (fats, various food products).

The share of machine-building products is 14%, including mechanical equipment (boilers, bearings), electrical equipment (generators, cables, transformers, batteries), land transport vehicles. The share of mineral products - 2%, other goods - 6% (ceramic products, stone products).
Machine-building products were mainly shipped from Kyrgyzstan to the Sverdlovsk region - 96% (mainly railway equipment). The share of textiles - 4%.
In 2016, the Sverdlovsk region to Kyrgyzstan mainly supplied metals and products from them - 51%, including ferrous metals and products from them - 48% (rolled products, profiles, pipes), tools, aluminum and products from it, copper and products from it - 1% each. The share of wood and wood products is 5% (fibreboard and chipboard, processed timber), including paper and cardboard. The share of chemical products - 12%, including cosmetic products, cleaning products, plastics, pharmaceutical products, mixed chemicals, rubber and products from it (tires).
The share of food - 12% (fats, confectionery, various food products). The share of engineering products - 8%, including mechanical equipment - 2% (boilers, bearings), electrical equipment - 3% (generators, cables, transformers, batteries), railway equipment and parts - 1%. The share of other goods - 7% (ceramic products, stone products).
Metals and products from them — 47%, and also textiles — 23%, engineering products — 14% (mechanical and electrical equipment) were mainly shipped from Kyrgyzstan to the Sverdlovsk region.

In 2017, mainly metals and products from them were exported from the Sverdlovsk region to Kyrgyzstan - 52% (supply volumes increased), including ferrous metals and products from them - 43% (unalloyed bars, shaped bars, wire, pipes, containers, fasteners), copper - 1% (rods, wires, pipes), aluminum - 2% (powders, plates, rods, household products), tools - 5%. The share of food is 11% (growth of supplies), including fats - 8% (margarine), chocolate - 2%, others - 1% (sauces and seasonings), as well as poultry and eggs. The share of chemical products - 11%, including pharmaceutical products - 2% (packaged drugs), soap - 1%, polymers - 3%, rubber - 1% (tires, conveyor belts), others - 2% (catalysts). The share of engineering products - 8% (increase in deliveries), including mechanical equipment - 3% (pumps, thermal and refrigeration equipment, bulldozers, lifting equipment), electrical equipment - 4% (electric motors and generators and their parts, cables, insulators ) devices - 1% (medical). The share of wood is 7% (the growth in deliveries is 1.6 times), including sawn timber, fibreboard and chipboard, plywood. Other products were also supplied - 9% (tiles, mineral insulation).

Imports mainly consisted of metals - 58% (waste and scrap of copper, an increase in deliveries by 5.6 times), an increase in imports was due to this product group. The share of food - 25% (a significant increase in supply compared with previous years), mainly dairy products. Textiles were also supplied - 13% (clothing, an increase in deliveries of more than 2 times compared with the previous year). Machine-building products were also supplied - 1% (supply reduction), other goods - 3%. The growth of imports in January - March 2018 was due to an increase in copper supplies.
