On July 25, 2019, a resolution entitled “Cooperation between the United Nations and the Collective Security Treaty Organization” was adopted by consensus at a meeting of the UN General Assembly.

H.E. Ms. Mirgul Moldoisaeva, Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN, introducing the draft resolution and speaking on behalf of all CSTO member states, noted that one of the fundamental principles of foreign policy common to all CSTO member states is recognition of the central role played by the UN in the modern system international relations, stating that the UN and the CSTO are effectively cooperate on a wide range of issues in the framework of regular exchange of information, organization of visits, participation in conferences and training events. It was also noted that the agenda of cooperation between the UN and the CSTO is diverse and relevant for solving its tasks, and the achieved level of mutual understanding ensures the effectiveness of interaction, which makes it possible to consider it a benchmark for relations of the CSTO with international organizations.
