On 2 October 2019, Akylay Batyrbekova, the youth delegate of the Kyrgyz Republic, made a statement at the meeting of the Third Committee (Committee on Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Issues) of the UN General Assembly as part of the consideration of the agenda item entitled "Social development, including questions relating to the world social situation and to youth, ageing, persons with disabilities and the family”. In her speech, Akylay Batyrbekova raised topical issues of ensuring the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in the field of youth policy, including education, decent work and economic growth in the context of the achievement by the Kyrgyz Republic of the sustainable development goals by 2030.
