A meeting of the Group of Friends of United Nations Alliance of Civilizations on Preventing Violent Extremism and Sustaining Peace took place at the United Nations Headquarters on 3 April 2018. The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of cooperation between public bodies, non-governmental organizations, youth movements and other representatives of civil society.

The High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations Mr. Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser mentioned achievements of the Alliance in sphere of countering violent extremism spreading and implementation of youth-oriented programs under the auspices of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations.

During her speech the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United Nations Mirgul Moldoisaeva announced basic dimensions of public policy in religious and cultural spheres, fighting extremism and terrorism as well as influence of radical ideas on young generation.

Particularly she mentioned the programs approved by the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic aimed at combating extremism and terrorism, development of public policy in religious sphere and youth policy till 2020 and 2022.

Also, Mirgul Moldoisaeva underlined the upcoming Third World Nomad Games in 2018 as Kyrgyzstan’s contribution to the intercultural dialogue on national, regional and international levels
