4447

The Kyrgyz Republic as a full member of the United Nations, expressing its concern over the present situation in the field of climate change, environmental protection, preservation of biodiversity, Earth and environmental security, introduces its initiative «Nature knows no borders. Transboundary cooperation is a key factor in the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity» in the form of a draft resolution to the 75th General Assembly of the UN. The main our goal is to preserve the world's biodiversity, which provides urgent, collaborative steps and measures to ensure future generations of our countries with clean, green and safe environment.
Environmental sustainability is the major global challenge and one of the UN Millennium Development Goals.
The current state of the environment and the world's ecological systems does not meet the requirements of our time. Global climate change, warming, melting glaciers, and other natural disasters make it clear that we need to increase attention to this issue. The pollution of our natural environment is occurring at an alarming rate.
Natural disasters of unprecedented strength (fires, floods, hurricanes) are becoming more frequent, affecting the lives of more people than ever before. The poor are the most exposed to the environmental hazards.
The rapid growth of cities at the expense of rural residents who change their place of residence in search of better jobs and living conditions leads to the deterioration of already terrible living conditions in slums.
If nature disappears - the sustainable development and prosperous future of our countries will disappear too.
Global international environmental organizations take all necessary steps for the successful development of all spheres of human activity, and within this policy, the Kyrgyz Republic considers it important to see and evaluate how the environment affects the development of human society and countries of the world. Progress, development and the environment are interrelated concepts.
Even more serious consequences include the destruction of the world's fisheries, damage to grain crops, and "violent" changes in the natural landscape that negatively affects the world’s flora and fauna.
The Kyrgyz Republic calls not to stand aside from the current threats to the environment, but to take decisive, joint international steps to protect our nature.
The Kyrgyz Republic calls on the UN member States not to postpone until tomorrow what needs to be done today.
The draft enjoyed positive responds from global ecological organizations such as UN Convention on Biological Diversity, Convention on migratory species, Ramsar Convention, UNEP, WWF and NABU.
The Kyrgyz Republic calls for preserving the earth's biodiversity and ensuring a harmonious future for our descendants and generations.
The Kyrgyz Republic calls on UN member States to support our initiative, to form a global "bio-collaboration" and join the resolution as its co-sponsors.
