On December 23, 2020, The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbayev, at the request of the Afghan side, received the Charge d' Affaires of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Abdul Majid Kargar.

During the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues on the agenda of Kyrgyz-Afghan relations, including the situation of the Afghan Kyrgyz in the Big and Small Pamirs. In addition, the parties exchanged views on the further development of infrastructure projects and regional integration.

H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbayev expressed support for the intra-Afghan reconciliation process launched in 2020 and expressed hope for its advancement in order to achieve peace in Afghanistan and strengthen regional security in general.
