Within the work carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic on economic diplomacy, on January 21 of this year Director of the Sixth Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic (Department of Economic Diplomacy) E. Omuraliev held an online meeting with partners in the preparation and holding of IT EXPO "Connect.KG", in particular with the leadership of the State Committee for Information Technologies and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic, the High Technology Park of the Kyrgyz Republic from the Kyrgyz side and representatives of the US Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic and diplomatic missions of the EU, Great Britain, Japan, South Korea and Germany.

The main issue on the agenda of the consultations was the upcoming organization an IT EXPO “Connect.KG” in March 2021 in the format of video conferencing.

During the meeting, the participants noted that currently in Kyrgyzstan there is a very positive trend in the development of the IT sector and the interest of young people in this area is growing. The meeting participants expressed their readiness to hold "IT EXPO" at the international level with the participation of leading IT companies from the USA, Great Britain, Japan, Korea, EU countries and other interested countries. It is also planned to involve in this process interested business associations of Kyrgyzstan, organizations specializing in the training of software engineers, IT specialists. It is expected that this event will provide IT / start-up companies in Kyrgyzstan with the opportunity to establish cooperation with the world's leading companies for the exchange of experience and business outsourcing.

Following the consultations, the parties agreed to hold IT EXPO “Connect.KG” on March 15-19, 2021.

At the moment, the website of the event “CONNECTKG.COM” has been created, where interested participants / companies from these countries and Kyrgyzstan can register for participation free of charge and receive all the necessary information. From now on, the High Technology Park of the Kyrgyz Republic will start an active SMM campaign to disseminate information about the EXPO.

The EXPO will be held with the assistance of USAID and its program includes speeches and presentations by leading experts from Kyrgyzstan working in leading companies in the USA and the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of IT, as well as B2B sections on IT in the following areas:

- e-commerce,

- business solutions,

- financial technologies,

- education,

- tourism,

- health and science,

- e-government,

- new technologies, etc.

The main goal of the event is to achieve concrete results in the form of creating an effective platform that will attract the necessary international attention to the IT sector of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as attract foreign investment in existing and future IT companies, promote the export of IT services and business partnerships between IT companies of Kyrgyzstan and leading IT companies in the US, UK, EU, Japan and South Korea, which will stimulate the economy, create jobs and empower Kyrgyz youth.

It is expected that the event will make a significant contribution to the development of the IT industry of Kyrgyzstan as an IT hub of Central Asia, its entry into the international market and expansion of foreign economic relations.
