Regular meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS member states

On December 10, 2020, The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbayev took part in a regular meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS member states via videoconferencing.

An exchange of views took place on topical international and regional problems and the further development of cooperation within the Commonwealth in various areas, including in the fight against the spread of coronavirus infection in the CIS. The main attention of the heads of delegations was paid to the agenda of the upcoming meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS. In particular, the Foreign Ministers of the CIS countries approved the draft joint statements of the heads of the CIS states on the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the creation of the UN, as well as on cooperation in the field of information security. In addition, the projects of the Concept for the Further Development of the CIS and the Action Plan for its Implementation, the Concept of Military Cooperation and the Program of Cooperation in Strengthening Border Security were approved. The Council members also approved the Plan of multi-level inter-ministerial consultations within the CIS for 2021 and made decisions on the basic organizations of the CIS member states in the field of training scientific personnel in the physical and physical and technical sciences and employees of the prosecutor's offices.

H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbayev in his speech called for effective use of the entire potential of the Commonwealth to overcome the socio-economic consequences of the pandemic and expressed hope for joint comprehensive efforts to provide people with a full and affordable vaccine against the new virus. H.E. Mr. Ruslan A. Kazakbayev noted the importance of strengthening cooperation in the trade and economic sphere through the further implementation of the Agreement on a free trade zone within the CIS, creating conditions for the smooth operation of the transport and logistics infrastructure and its further development, as well as the gradual resumption of regular flights and the movement of labor resources. The next meeting of the CIS CFM is scheduled to be held on April 2, 2021 in the Russian Federation.
