At EXPO 2020 Dubai, Kyrgyzstan will show itself as a country open to new changes, Deputy Prime Minister Zamirbek Askarov said at the meeting with Director of International Participants Department of EXPO André Dourado.

The meeting took place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), the press service of the Kyrgyz Government reported.

As part of his working visit, Deputy PM Zamirbek Askarov visited the site of EXPO 2020, which covers 4.38 hectares, and a 2-storey pavilion, which is under construction for the Kyrgyz Republic, allocated by the organizers of the exhibition.

“The EXPO, to be held in the Middle East for the first time, will open new markets for many of our participants and create new opportunities for cooperation. Millions of visitors from all over the world will attend the event and we expect them to be able to learn about the culture, traditions, history, economy, achievements and innovations of all EXPO countries, including the Kyrgyz Republic,” said André Dourado.

“At this exhibition, we want to present all the best that we have in the country. As at other exhibitions where we participated, our pavilion will have its own national flavor. We also want to demonstrate Kyrgyzstan is a country that is moving forward, towards new, meaningful changes. We have a liberal investment climate, huge tourism potential and we are on the way to developing our economy. We want to open up all this to the world through the exhibition,” Askarov said.

EXPO 2020 is a World Expo to be hosted by Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, opening on Oct. 20, 2020. The Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) general assembly in Paris awarded Dubai as the host on Nov. 27, 2013.
