President Jeenbekov’s meeting with UAE Prime Minister

As part of his official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov met on Thursday with UAE Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

According to the press service of the Kyrgyz President, the sides discussed the prospects of bilateral interaction in all areas of cooperation.

UAE Vice President and PM Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum warmly welcomed Sooronbay Jeenbekov, noting that he is honored to meet with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.

He stressed the peoples of the UAE and Kyrgyzstan are linked by nomadic culture and special treatment of horses. The UAE vice president said he breeds horses in his residence and asked about equestrian festivals in Kyrgyzstan.

The UAE vice president stressed President Jeenbekov’s visit to the UAE is timely and will give a new impetus to bilateral cooperation.

The Kyrgyz President expressed gratitude for the warm welcome.

He told about the Third World Nomad Games held in Kyrgyzstan in 2018, where 37 sports competitions were held. Many of them belong to equestrian sports games with various directions.

President Jeenbekov noted the need to develop trade and economic relations, taking effective measures to increase joint trade turnover, once again emphasizing the investment opportunities of Kyrgyzstan.

He invited the UAE Prime Minister to visit Kyrgyzstan, where he will be able to watch spectacular Kyrgyz national equestrian competitions.

The UAE Vice President, Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum expressed interest and noted a delegation will be sent to Kyrgyzstan to study priority areas to make investment.
