On May 17, 2022, during the visit to Belgium, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic A. Moldogaziev visited the Turbulent Hydro company in Leuven, Belgium.

The Turbulent hydropower system is based on the natural phenomenon of the water vortex. The system combines an air intake, a turbine, a generating device and an exhaust duct. Each vortex turbine produces from 15 to 100 kW and can operate even with a slight difference in altitude. The system can be installed on any river, canal or even watercourse with drops from 1.5 to 5 m. The system generates power using a single turbine or a group of turbines as needed.

A relatively young organization is already implementing its projects around the world (Belgium, Estonia, Bali, Taiwan, Chile).

During the meeting, the management of the Belgian company shared their experience in implementing their projects, among the advantages of which are the use of clean energy from rivers or canals and the provision of electricity to communities and villages from 50-500 households; easy transportation on a small truck; generation from 120,000 to 560,000 kWh per year per turbine; fast delivery; simple construction work and installation in a couple of days; a reliable and constant source of energy (as opposed to intermittent energy sources such as wind or solar power); energy 24 hours, 365 days a year.

Taking into account the hydropower potential of Kyrgyzstan, as well as the technologies and experience of the Belgian company, the parties agreed to explore the possibility of further cooperation in the use of clean energy from rivers or canals and the provision of electricity to the country's settlements through international financial institutions.
