On February 15, 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Zheenbek Kulubaev met with the European Union Special Representative for Central Asia Teri Hakala and the European Union Special Envoy for Afghanistan Tomas Niklasson.

The parties discussed the state of cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the European Union, as well as further plans to enhance mutually beneficial cooperation both bilaterally and within the regional agenda.

Minister Zheenbek Kulubaev congratulated the high representatives of the European Union on the success of the regular meeting of the Central Asian Special Representatives and the European Union on Afghanistan held on February 14, 2024 in Bishkek, and emphasized the importance of further cooperation on security issues and Afghanistan.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to continue strengthening the dialog and cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the European Union in order to ensure peace, stability and prosperity in the Central Asian region and Afghanistan.
