On February 29, 2024, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Belgium Aidit Erkin met with the Chairman of the Friendship Group with Kyrgyzstan, member of the Chamber of Representatives of the Federal Parliament of the Kingdom of Belgium Mr. Tim Vandenput, and member of the Chamber of Representatives Ms. Özlem Özen.

During the conversation, Ambassador Aidit Erkin infromed about the reforms being carried out in the country, the dynamics of socio-economic development, as well as effective measures to achieve sustainable development goals.

The parties positively noted the current level of Kyrgyz-Belgian cooperation and discussed prospective areas for further interaction, including the spheres of agriculture, investments, and trade. Special attention was paid to tourism and transportation sectors.

Following the meeting, the parties outlined further plans for bilateral contacts, including inter-parliamentary cooperation.
