Cultural and humanitarian cooperation

Great attention is paid to the popularization of Kyrgyz history and culture in Belgium, the expansion of cultural ties.

In October 2012, the delegation of Liege visited Bishkek to establish twin-city relations, as well as to discuss cooperation in trade, scientific and cultural exchanges. Meetings with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Bishkek City Hall and the Kyrgyz National University were held. The delegation included representatives of the mayor's office of Liege, AWEX agency and Liege University.

On May 9, 2015, a photo exhibition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Great Patriotic War and the end of World War II, about the contribution of the Kyrgyz people was opened.

In June 2015, a concert "Melodies of Heavenly Mountains" of the Kyrgyz state ensemble of dance "Ak Maral" was organized in the Palace of Fine Arts "BOZAR" in Brussels.

On June 6, 2015 children's dance group and young soloists from Kyrgyzstan took the first place in the nomination for dancing and honorary prizes in the gala concert of the 13th International Festival of Languages and Culture "Colors of the World".

In September 2015, the exhibition of the Belgian photographer Elizabeth Kallens on the identity of the Kyrgyz was opened in Ghent. In October, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic together with the French-Kyrgyz Association of Friendship, Art and Culture "ACAFK" organized a concert of artists of the Kyrgyz stage: M. Atabekov, Omar and Arsen.

In December 2015, a photo exhibition dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Integralpo in the Kyrgyz Republic was opened on the basis of photographic materials from the Central State Archives of Film and Photo Documents of the KR of 1925-1957.

On the birthday of the world-famous writer, ex-Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic in Belgium, Ch. Aitmatov, on December 12, 2015 in the Concert Hall of the Museum of Musical Instruments a concert of classical music with the participation of opera singer Zh.Raimbekova and pianist L. Grigoryan was organized.

In order to promote the Kyrgyz culture, in January-February 2016, a documentary film about the trip to the Kyrgyz Republic of the French director V. Robinot "Man and Horse" was demonstrated in the cinemas of Belgium.

On June 3, 2016 in the gala concert of the International Festival "Colors of the World", which was held in the concert hall of Brussels "Fore", Kyrgyzstan was represented by the creative team of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Lyceum.

On March 2-5, 2017, the young violinists of Kyrgyzstan participated in the International Arthur Gromio International Violin Competition in Brussel.

On March 25, 2017 - on the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Belgium celebrated Nooruz in the city of Gent. The event allowed to demonstrate not only the national color and culture of the country, but also, on the before the tourist season-2017, to demonstrate to Belgians the tourist and investment potential of Kyrgyzstan. A report on the event was broadcast on the local Hasselt channel, an article in the Dutch language was published in a number of Belgian newspapers Genk. Also in September this year. in the city of Brussel, the Embassy plans to participate in the jubilee conference of the Belgian Foreign Ministry with the participation of foreign countries, including the Kyrgyz Republic, with diplomatic relations with which marks 25 years.

On April 18-30, 2017, within the framework of the International Film Festival "MOOOV" in the cinemas of Brugge and Thurnhout, Belgium, a screening of the film "Centaur" by the Kyrgyz director Aktan Arym Kubat was held, which won the main prize of the Festival as the best film. According to the organizers of the Festival, the film will be released in the Benelux countries in the spring of 2018.

April 29, 2017 in Brussel Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Belgium, together with the Kyrgyz tourist company "Nomadstan" held an evening of culture of Kyrgyzstan with a presentation of the tourist potential of the Kyrgyz Republic, which was attended by about 100 Belgians - potential tourists.

On January 16, 2018 in Brussel, with the organizational assistance of the Embassy and the Kyrgyz diaspora in Belgium, a concert of Kyrgyz folk music with the participation of singer Umutai Abdyshova and akyn-improvisator Kubat Tukeshov took place. A presentation on Kyrgyzstan and national culture was also held during the concert.

Certain results have been achieved in the development of relations and cooperation with Belgium in the field of sports.

From May 26 to June 2, 2014 gymnasts from Kyrgyzstan for the first time took part in European competitions, where athletes from 17 European countries, including gymnasts of the National Team and the Center for Olympic Preparation of Russia took part. As a result of the competition, Kyrgyz gymnasts won prizes: 1 gold and 3 bronze.

In May 27, 2014 in the famous sports club of Brussels "Fire Gym" was organized a meeting between athletes of the KR on rhythmic gymnastics and representatives of various sports of Belgium with the participation of the chairmen of the Belgian federations of free-style wrestling and development of sports. During the meeting with the representatives of the Belgian Federations, questions were discussed on the possibilities of developing cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and Belgium in various sports and exchanging experience and establishing links between the federations of the Kyrgyz Republic and Belgium.

In March 2017, an article was published on the Kyrgyz game "Kok Boru" in the Belgian newspaper "Metro" in the Dutch language.
