Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Zheenbek Kulubaev met with Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Foreign Trade and Federal Cultural Institutions of the Kingdom of Belgium Hadja Lahbib on November 16, 2022, in Brussels.

The parties noted with satisfaction that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and Belgium.

Emphasizing the constructive and friendly nature of cooperation, the ministers reaffirmed their intention to intensify bilateral relations.

In this context, the discussed plans to further develop political dialogue at the highest and high levels, promote trade, economic and investment cooperation and strengthen the legal framework. The parties agreed to strengthen practical cooperation.

Foreign Ministers also exchanged views on topical issues on the global and regional agenda and security challenges.

In conclusion, the parties exchanged congratulations on the election of Kyrgyzstan and Belgium to the UN Human Rights Council for the period 2023-2025. They agreed to continue joint work to promote human rights both within the mandate of the Council and at the bilateral level.
