On October 23, 2018, a diplomatic reception was held in Brussels, dedicated to the 27th anniversary of independence of the Kyrgyz Republic and the 90th anniversary of the famous Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov.

Reception was held in one of the central reception halls of Brussels.

The event was attended by representatives of the Government and Parliament of the Kingdom of Belgium, the leadership of the Belgian Foreign Ministry, representatives of the European Parliament, the European Commission, the European External Action Service, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassadors of the countries accredited to Belgium, as well as representatives of a number of partner organizations of the Embassy.

In his solemn speech, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador Asein Isaev noted the achievements in bilateral relations with Belgium, as well as the importance of strategic partnership with the European Union, highlighting the process of concluding a new agreement on expanded partnership and cooperation.

A. Isaev also stressed the importance of the work of C. Aitmatov in the modern life of mankind, stressing the words of the great Kyrgyz humanist that no ideology or national structure is more important than love and understanding between people.

During the reception, guests were presented a documentary film dedicated to the life and work of the writer, an exhibition of paintings by Kyrgyz artists I. Bakirov and A. Kubatali, as well as a stand with national products from Kyrgyzstan.

The event of a diplomatic reception was the performance of the young manaschi from Kyrgyzstan Umota Doolotova. His unique gift made an indelible impression on those present. Also in the course of the evening, the akyn improviser Bayan Akmatov demonstrated his art.

Copies of Aitmatov's book “Jamil” in French with a translation by Louis Aragon, described by him as “the most beautiful love story”, were also distributed to those present.
