Today, on April 2, President Sooronbai Zheenbekov had a telephone conversation with President of the European Council Charles Michel.

Topical issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as measures to fight coronavirus infection were discussed during the conversation.

The head of state expressed his support because of the spread of coronavirus infection in the EU countries and expressed hope for an early improvement of the epidemiological situation in the world.

Sooronbai Zheenbekov also informed about the measures taken by the Kyrgyz side to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection and mitigate the negative effects on the economy of Kyrgyzstan.

President Sooronbai Zheenbekov suggested to the European side to consider the possibility of providing additional assistance to the Kyrgyz Republic to minimize the negative consequences of the spread of coronavirus infection.

The President of the European Council expressed support to the Kyrgyz side in the fight against this disease and noted that the EU will consider the best possible options for providing financial support to the country.
