On December 19, 2018, on the New Year eve, a meeting of compatriots in the UAE was held in the Zabeel recreation and culture park in Dubai. The event was organized by the Consulate General of the Kyrgyz Republic in Dubai with the active participation of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic living in the UAE.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Mr. Chyngyz Aidarbekov, who was on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates, took part in the meeting of compatriots.

The head of the Foreign Ministry made a welcoming speech. Having listened to the wishes of the meeting participants, he answered their questions and informed on measures taken by the State to support compatriots abroad and on the planned measures to strengthen Kyrgyz-Emirates relations.

During the event, national sports and entertainment competitions and musical performances were held. Guests were also offered national dishes, treats, and drinks.

The Consulate General of the Kyrgyz Republic in Dubai regularly organizes such events that contribute to strengthening the unity of the Kyrgyz diaspora in the UAE and preserving cultural heritage far from the homeland.
