The United Arab Emirates is among the main economic partners of the Kyrgyz Republic not only in the countries of the Persian Gulf but throughout in the Middle East region. The Kyrgyz Republic and the UAE have great potential for trade, economic and investment cooperation in the priority sectors, such as processing industry, mining, financial activity, eco-tourism, and export of water and environmentally friendly products.

According to the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic, the trade turnover amounted to 8.448 million US dollars from January to September 2018, of which exports were 4.891 million US dollars, and imports – 3.557 million US dollars.

On May 24, 2017, a Business Forum was held with the participation of business circles of the two countries as part of the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates to the Kyrgyz Republic. The UAE business delegation consisted of 34 delegates representing the largest corporations of the Emirates, including investment companies such as Mubadala Investment Company and Dubai Investment, as well as four chambers of commerce of various UAE emirates.

On February 10-11, 2018, a working visit of the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic to Dubai took place to participate in the World Government Summit.

On April 2-4, 2018, at the invitation of the Head of Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, the working visit of Executive Director of Air Arabia Mr. Adel Abdullah Al-Ali to the Kyrgyz Republic took place.

On May 8, 2018, representatives of the business community of the Southern Department of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic and partners from the United Arab Emirates visited the Emirate of Sharjah.

On October 24-25, 2018, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Zamirbek Askarov visited Dubai to attend the World Green Economy Summit. As part of Mr. Askarov’s participation in the Summit, meetings with the leaders of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the SAIF Free Economic Zone of the Emirate of Sharjah were organized for him.

From October 27 to November 8, 2018, a Kyrgyz delegation headed by Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Information Technologies and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Eshmambet Amatov visited the UAE to attend the Plenipotentiary Conference of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) 2018 in Dubai.

From November 19 to November 22, 2018, training was organized for employees of the State Service for Regulation and Supervision of the Financial Market under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic. The training on the financial market regulation and the issuance of the Sukuk Islamic securities were held at the Dubai Islamic Economy Development Centre.
