Kyrgyz-Danish relations

Denmark recognized the independence of the Kyrgyz Republic on January 16, 1992. Diplomatic relations were established on May 8, 1992.

Since September 2018, the Ambassador of Denmark to the Kyrgyz Republic with the residence in Moscow is Karsten Sendergard, who presented his credentials to the President of the Kyrgyz Republic on June 24, 2021.

In Kyrgyzstan, since 2016 Denmark has the Honorary Consul Abdybekov Adilet.

According to the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic from March 20, 2019, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Germany is responsible for issues of cooperation with the Kingdom of Denmark.

The first high-level visit to the Kyrgyz Republic was the visit of Helle Degn, Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development of Denmark (May 1993). In September 1996, a delegation of the OSCE Troika visited Bishkek, which included the representative of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Ambassador U. Friis-Müller. In February 1997, a delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic visited Denmark. In 1997, the Minister of Defense of Denmark visited Kyrgyzstan.

On November 14-16, 1999, the official visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Kingdom of Denmark took place.

On November 26–December 1, 2013, a delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic consisting of deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Minister of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ombudsman and representatives of state bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic visited Denmark.

On February 28-March 2, 2016, deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic visited the Secretariat of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Copenhagen and the Danish Foreign Ministry.
