On March 20, 2022 in Schwabenheim in the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate (Germany) the association of Kyrgyz „Rhein-Main“ organised a festive event in honour of the spring holiday Nooruz.

The event was attended by members of the association of Kyrgyz „Rhein-Main“ with their families, local residents who are Germans originating from Kyrgyzstan as well as a representative of the Consular Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic in Frankfurt am Main.

Guests were presented with information about the significance of Nooruz, which is widely celebrated not only in Kyrgyzstan but also in a number of other countries. Participants in the event were able to test their skills in the national game of tug-of-war. Guests of the evening were offered a variety of Kyrgyz national dishes.

The association of Kyrgyz „Rhein-Main“ was founded in 2021 and as part of its activities it promotes the dissemination of information about the culture and traditions of the Kyrgyz people in Germany. In this way the society contributes to strengthening the Kyrgyz-German cooperation, which this year celebrates its 30th anniversary. Society members work in the fields of medicine, education, television, architecture, etc.
