On July 7, 2022, Ambassador Mr.Omurbek Tekebaev visited the state-owned company Bundesdruckerei GmbH, which is the only German institution that produces state-issued personal documents, and also provides high-security digital products for internal affairs, customs, and border services in Germany.

According to the Regional Director, Ms. Judith Meinke, Bundesdruckerei GmbH, with a 250-year history, has been issuing euro banknotes for many years, and is also engaged in the implementation of digital currency. At the same time, special attention is paid to the issues of ensuring digital security.

Ambassador Mr. Omurbek Tekebaev discussed the possibility of using German technologies in the development of digital som, the implementation of which is provided for by the National Development Program of the Kyrgyz Republic until 2026.

The parties reached an agreement on visiting the Kyrgyz Republic by the representatives of the Bundesdruckerei GmbH for a substantive discussion of these issues in the relevant ministries and departments of the Kyrgyz Republic.
