On March 18, 2024, a meeting was held between the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Federal Republic of Germany Omurbek Tekebaev and the Vice-Prorector for International and European Affairs of the Humboldt University in Berlin, Dr. Yoan Vilain.

During the meeting, issues of cooperation between the world-famous Humboldt University in Berlin and Kyrgyzstan were discussed.

Ambassador O. Tekebaev provided information on current issues of Kyrgyz-German cooperation in the field of education and science and invited the Humboldt University in Berlin to expand cooperation with universities in Kyrgyzstan in the educational and scientific fields, including the training of young scientific graduate students from Kyrgyzstan through their participation in various scientific University programs. The Ambassador also proposed the issue of cooperation on mountain issues.

Dr. Y.Vilain noted that the Humboldt University, being one of the leading universities in Germany, cooperates with universities of other countries in the framework of various projects and programs, including with Kyrgyzstan. He expressed his readiness to consider the possibilities of expanding cooperation with Kyrgyzstan.

For reference: Humboldt University in Berlin was founded in 1809. It is one of the 20 largest universities in Germany and one of the most famous universities in the world.

The university consists of 9 faculties, each of which includes several institutes. There are also various central and interdisciplinary institutes.
