In order to develop trade, economic and investment cooperation between the regions of Kyrgyzstan and Iran, on November 26, 2022 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Iran, Turdakun Sydykov visited Birjand city, the administrative and industrial center of the Iranian South Khorasan province, where he met with the Governor of South Khorasan Javad Genat, the local Chamber of Commerce, businessmen and representatives of scientific intellectuals, and visited several large industrial projects.
During the talks with the governor of the Iranian province the sides expressed mutual interest in increasing trade and economic, cultural, humanitarian and scientific and technical cooperation between the regions of the two states with the establishment of brother relations.
Representatives of the business community of South Khorasan province were informed about the investment climate and priority investment projects of the Kyrgyz Republic in the fields of energy, agriculture, industry and tourism.
 During a meeting with representatives of the faculty of a number of universities, plans were outlined to establish partnerships between higher education institutions of the two countries with an increase in partnership cooperation through student exchanges and joint research.
