On December 13, 2019, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Korea, Dinara Kemelova met with the Deputy Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Yong Bok Kwon.

During the meeting, Ambassador D. Kemelova noted that the opening of direct flight to South Korea it’s important for Kyrgyzstan, because there is growing mutual interest between the two countries in the tourism and business sectors, and mutual trips of citizens of the two countries are increasing, especially tourists.

Also, Ambassador D. Kemelova emphasized that the Kyrgyz Republic offers South Korean airlines to use the Policy of the Fifth Freedom of the Air.

Deputy Minister Mr. Yong Bok Kwon noted that Kyrgyzstan has great tourism potential, in particular emphasized mountain tourism, which attracts South Korean tourists. Deputy minister said that together with South Korean airlines they will investigate the proposals of the Kyrgyz side, taking into account the profitability and prospects of opening a direct flight with Kyrgyzstan.

The parties also discussed the possibility of promoting infrastructure projects, in particular the modernization of regional airports.
