Information message regarding the information disseminated in the media about the incident with a citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic in one of the hotels in Istanbul

On January 17, 2022, in one of the hotels in the Umraniye district of Istanbul, as a result of the conflict, a citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic “T.P.N.”, born in 1993, was stabbed in the face and neck. For involvement in this incident, a Turkish citizen “K.T.”, born in 1981, was detained, who, in turn, wrote a counter statement and said that “T.P.N.” wanted to commit suicide.

After providing first aid, "T.P.N." She refused to be treated in the hospital in writing and is in her apartment under the supervision of doctors.

An investigation is currently underway in respect of a Turkish citizen “K.T.” a temporary ban on leaving Turkey.

The Consulate General is taking all necessary measures to respect all the rights of a citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic, and is working with the leadership of law enforcement and judicial bodies in Istanbul.
