Within the framework of the working visit to the Republic of Turkey, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbaev met with Mayor of Istanbul Ekrem Imamoglu.

During the meeting, Minister Ruslan Kazakbaev encouraged Mayor of Istanbul to more actively promote bilateral twinning relations with the city of Osh within the framework of the implementation of the points of the Protocol on twinning relations between the cities of Osh and Istanbul, signed on September 20, 1997 in Osh.

Along with this, Mr. Kazakbaev conveyed a Letter from Mayor of Osh to Mayor of Istanbul.

The parties agreed on the need to exchange experience between municipalities of two cities, including the organization of mutual visits of delegations as soon as possible.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic also stressed the importance of interaction in the fight against the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. In this context, the Kyrgyz side expressed gratitude to the Turkish side for assistance in countering the consequences of the epidemic.
