Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev met with members of the Parliament of Turkey and heads of business organizations of the Turkish province of Karaman

On December 22, 2020, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Turkey Kubanychbek Omuraliev met with the members of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey from the province of Karaman, Recep Seker and Selman Eser, as well as the Chairmen of Karaman Chamber of Commerce and Industr, Chamber of Agriculture Mustafa Alkan and Mehmet Bayram.

During the meeting, Ambassador Omuraliev informed the participants about the political and economic situation in the country, incl. the upcoming early elections of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Referendum on January 10, 2021.

Ambassador Omuraliev noted the measures taken in our country to protect and support investors and businessmen, incl. meetings of the leaders of the Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic with businessmen in Bishkek and in the regions. He also informed the Turkish side about the investment potential of Kyrgyzstan, in particular, about the conditions for doing business and low taxes for entrepreneurs and urged businessmen of the Karaman Chamber of Commerce and Industry to take part in the Kyrgyz-Turkish Business Forum, which is scheduled in 2021 in the Issyk-Kul region of the Kyrgyz Republic through Kyrgyz-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.

The parties discussed the implementation of the agreements reached within the framework of the Second Business Development Forum held on January 18-22, 2020 in Karaman, in particular, the holding of the Third Forum in 2021 in Kyrgyzstan.

Recep Seker noted that the entrepreneurs of the two countries who took part in the Second Forum remain in touch and aim to implement the reached agreements on opening production sites in Kyrgyzstan. He said that on December 26-30, 2020, he will visit Kyrgyzstan with a group of 5 Turkish businessmen with the aim of investing in our country and creating joint ventures, and also expressed his readiness to hold the next business forum in our country in 2021.

Mr. Omuraliev also welcomed the upcoming visit of Mr. Seker and his colleagues, members of parliaments, to Kyrgyzstan in early January 2021 as an observer from the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries (TURKPA) at the presidential elections in the Kyrgyz Republic.
